Has anyone ever trans-mounted a 400?

Maybe I could put one in a Sunfire as a rear engine.

Hence the transverse-mounting.

In the Sunfire I could run the driveshaft in the opposite direction, but I might need a tranny from down under.

Why bother with such a bizarre build? You are looking at inexpensive cars yet are apparently willing to spend thousands of dollars trying to engineer an oddball drive train in a vehicle that is far from being collectable or interesting to own or drive. Why not solar power?

Just use a Fiero drivetrain or if going mid or rear engine, the space frame section as well. Adapt to the BOP engine(s). Been done to death with Fieros using SBC, Caddy 4.9 V-8's, 3800SC V-6's and so on.

I think you can even use the beefier Caddy FWD and 3800 V6 gearboxes with some mods.

Bowties are for Pee-wee Herman. "Chevy": even the name sounds cheap, but not as cheap as your Pontiac will be with an LS transplant.

I thought you were going to buy a 4 door "driver" B body on the opposite coast that needed a rear end swap?

I've seen the 3800 v6 SC version transplanted into fieros, fun setup too.

But I'm still confused about the Phoenix ad? What does that have to do with a 400 and a rear engine Sunfire project?
