I am now in the market for subframe connectors for the 68 firebird. Any thoughts on brand? Weld or bolt on? I'm assuming weld. Anyone run those $160 ones I see on ebay? Anyone fab their own on this site? I don't want to hack the floor up if I don't have to. Ground clearance is also not a huge issue since the car isn't lowered. I just think that I may do some damage when I drop the new motor in with over 500 lbs torque. Any replies, thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

I put the Comp Eng bolt in ones on my 69 Firebird, good fit without too much trouble.

Thanks Rick. Would I be able to throw a few bead welds on them as well?

I would have thought so yes. Their website had a great installation sheet to download might be worth checking out the difference between the two.

That's exactly what I've done with the C/E ones on my 2nd gen Birds and I can't imagine why it wouldn't be possible with 1st Gen either.

Bowties are for Pee-wee Herman. "Chevy": even the name sounds cheap, but not as cheap as your Pontiac will be with an LS transplant.
