My 67 GTO 400 is starving for gas supply. New fuel pump and filter installed. Can my sending unit be bad? Is there a filter in my tank that my be clogged? Vehicle run as if the fuel pump is failing.

There should be a filter sock on the line in the tank and they are known to get plugged.

Another thing to check is the lines leaving the tank to the pump to make sure all the connections are tight. If a connection is loose the fuel pump could draw air thru the loose connection.

Brian...may I ask one last question. I'm told that when installing my fuel pump, I need to make sure a pin is properly placed on the shaft. I'm see no pin! In research, I understand some model have no pin and keep bumping the engine until the pump goes into place. Does that sound correct?

No pin, thats chevies. pontiacs are driven off of a lobe bolted to the front of the cam. just make sure the fuel pump arm is under that lobe.
