Thought I would share some good news with my qjet. I have been chasing fast idle problems for a long time. The latest discovery is a air leak at the air horn. I added a second thin gasket on top of the first to the air horn and it now idles at 790 rpm. Previously it idled at 1050. It could still have another air leak I haven't found yet.

Fuel still drips from the primary nozzles at idle with throttle plates fully closed. Idle bypass holes in the base plate are drilled to .113" Choke is disabled, fast idle cam is not engaged. Primary throttle plates are tight against the primary barrel wall.

Slowly I am making progress & have more work to do.

You have to make sure the secondary plates are closed completely as well as the primaries.
