1965-1977 ac/delco starters with bushing/spacer (like the one in AMES cat.) and the ones without what would be the difference ??? need one for my '64 Bonn./with '66 engine !! swapping out the jetaway for a th400!!! read somewhere that '75-'81 were high torque starters !! any help on this would be great.

If a mini starter will work on your motor, buy one ! I fought them old stock starters for years on my race cars. The best one I ever had was one off a 500 caddy motor, which my starter guy put a Pontiac nose on.

The mini starters such as the Summit unit will whirl my 455 bracket motor over much faster than any stock type starter ever did, even when hot !
