Don't seem to be much activity in this section. So I'll try to post a bit of this year's racing action.

So far it seems to be a good year for the girls. At the last big race, Erica won the $50,000 prize in the K&N Horsepower Challenge race. Then doubled up and won another $50,000 in the reg Pro Stock action on Sunday. Not a bad weekend ! I'll bet the Pro Stock guys hated it !

In Funny Car, Courtney qualified #1 with a track record, 4 flat. Then Alexis took the win, her 2nd of the year !

Hey, if any of you guys know of any Pontiac powered cars that win anything, let us know, by posting it here. Even it is only a class win at a big race, or a bracket win at a local track, I like to hear about Pontiac powered wins !

And try to list all the details you know about the car, such as model and year, 400, 455 or ? Pontiac engine, class or bracket, and ET. Pics of the winners would be nice too.

Qualifying from Topeka, Kansas was on ESPN2 from 5-7pm CT.

Brittany is #1 in TF and Courtney is #1 in FC.

John and Robert are 2nd and 3rd in FC. Team Force did as good as was possible in qualifying.

Will this be the weekend that one of the girls gets Pro Wally #100 for the ladies ?

If anybody is still awake, you can catch the finals of the drag race on the late show on ESPN2.

Courtney Force won Pro Wally #100 for the ladies in Topeka !

Hey, I think it's pretty awesome that a young lady even has the guts to drive a 300mph Funny Car !

Brittany Force has the quickest car in Thunder Valley this weekend.

Race coverage is on the late show again, beginning at 10pm CT on ESPN2. But it'll probably start even later than that because of a soccer game.

Well, it was actually a baseball game.

The Nitro cars made a lot of tire smoke, but when the smoke had cleared, Erica, T.J. Jr., and Langdon held the Wally from the Valley.

ESPN is gonna have some portions of live TV race coverage today beginning at noon CT.

Wow, that was a good race ! A 2 lane track with over a dozen holeshot wins, and lots of photo finishes. I'm not a fan of drag racing motorcycles, but I enjoyed seeing the husband/wife in the finals. That brings back some good memories of back when TJ and I did that a few times. It's fun, yeah !

Yeah, I'd like to see the lower classes too, especially the Stock and Super Stock. About the only coverage they get is the final run, during a VERY brief segment of the Sportsman coverage, which mostly just shows the alcohol dragsters and Funny Cars. I reckin it's just a matter of $. If they could get enuff advertisers to make a profit, they'd show anything legal.

This weekend there are lots of racers and fans gittin their kicks at Route 66. Coverage of qualifying is scheduled for 7pm CT on ESPN2.

Wow, night time nitro qualifying makes a great show !

http://southtownstar.suntimes.com/sports/28362325-419/nhra-doug-kalitta-tony-schumacher-1-2-in-top-fuel-qualifying-at-route-66-nationals.html#.U6-jS5RdVZ4

Kalitta, Hight, and AJ are tops in their class. So the fields are set for Sunday's eliminations. Semi finals and finals are supposed to be shown live. Race coverage starts at 2pm CT on ESPN2.

All the #1 qualifiers are gone, and all the girls are gone except for Brittany. The two Hectors are in the popsicle finals. And the TV guys are just wasting time til the cars get ready for the finals. I think maybe a recorded race is better for fans--no waiting and just killing time.

Vincent Nobile won Pro Stock with a holeshot. Matt Hagen won FC. And Brittany lost to Antron Brown in the TF final.

Coverage of some of the Sportsman class racing from Route 66 is on from 1-2pm CT on ESPN2. They'll also cover qualifying from Norwalk at 10pm CT.

Qualifying produced track records in TF, FC, and Pro Stock. So there should be some good racing. Coverage starts at 8pm CT on ESPN2.

Erica won Pro Stock. The old man John Force won FC. Antron picked up another Wally in TF.

Things are sorta up in the air(about a mile), but the Sarge, John Force, and Jason Line are the #1 qualifiers at the Mile High Nationals.

http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCStory.asp?ID=287975

Race coverage is on ESPN starting at 1:30pm CT.

Hey, a new girl won her very 1st round of competition in TF against the Sarge. That's something she'll never forget !

Hey, it rains at 5800 feet. So now we got a rain delay.

OK, It's J.R. Todd in TF, Robert Hight in FC, and AJ in PS.

After Friday night's qualifying session, the Force sisters were #1 in the Nitro classes.

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2014/07/26/sisters-courtney-and-brittany-force-top-qualifying-in-nhra-sonoma-nationals/

And Courtney rode that #1 position all the way to another Wally win against her dad in the finals.
