Newbie here. Am converting from single to dual exhaust system on my Catalina. Struggling with removing the exhaust pipe from the driver's side exh mani. 2 bolts of uncertain head size will not come out. 1/2 inch to small, 9/16 too big. Do not want to break off the bolt heads. Have tried all the remedies (WD40,heat,14/13mm socket, etc). Next step is to cut the pipe below the manifold, remove the manifold from the block, drill out the holes and reinstall pipe to manifold with either brass bolts or steel studs with brass nuts.

Should removal really be so difficult? Pass side came away clean.

Any help appreciated.
