I Have a 69 400 4bbl engine I got from a reputable salvage guy I know. Casting number is 9792968. Heads are #46. Date code was too hard to read I havent opened it up yet, but it should be a 4 bolt main block. Right? Anyone interested post a comment or phone number here and I can get back to you. |

Casting number 9792968 was a 428 and it may or may not have four bolt caps, but is probably drilled and tapped for them. |

Yes it is a 428. I finally got around to scraping the crud off the engine code on the front of the block. So here is the breakdown 9792968 casting K 228 date code - november 22 1968 YH code build 428 4 bolt main 360 horse auto trans Full size car. This is a good rebuildable core. It ran years ago.It has been setting for about 11 years. I got it from a salvage yard. The yard owner said he knew the old guy who owned it. He quit driving and parked it. It is 750 bucks. Comeplete from Quadrajet carb, to pan ,water pump to starter.also has the original turbo 400 with the deal still bolted on. All usable cores. Post your E mail here if interested. I will pallet and load at my end.Freight arrangements and charge is your thing. Gauranteed to be rebuildable only because it has set so long. Freight is at zip code 17771 |

Honestly that's a good deal i think for a 428, you don't see many around. I don't need mine now, but i plan to store it just in case the 389 in the 66 ever putters out... |

Are you near Williamsport Pa.? |
Bowties are for Pee-wee Herman. "Chevy": even the name sounds cheap, but not as cheap as your Pontiac will be with an LS transplant. |
