Can anyone please tell me the difference between tuned and untuned headers other than price? :)

Theoretically speaking, "tuned" headers are those that provide the same velocity and volume of flow between tubes There's a certain balance to them. Theoretically, companies attempt to do this by making the tubes the same length. However, the reality is we put them in street cars and frames and other components get in the way, so tubes are not the same length.

The better headers compromise through design but there's a limit because the damn things have to fit into our cars.

Equal length tubes work on a dragster of funny car.

I just asked the Hooker tech people this question. The pipes don't need to be the sme length to flow even. Bends in the pipe effect flow also. The shorter pipes have sharper bends. Flow is suppose to be equal between all pipes on tuned headers.

P-Body also told me that Hooker headers will make the most power.

Bowties are for Pee-wee Herman. LS swaps in Pontiacs should only apply to Fieros.
