Since our daughter is getting ready to get her license dad needs a new vehicle to get to work, so we added a 2007 Chevy Silverado Ext. cab 4x4 to the corral ...

One owner truck, 82000 miles on it, it looks brand new inside and out.

That's not many miles per year--not even broken in yet. Expect another 100,000.

One of the cool things I've found is that it will go from V8 mode to V4 mode dropping four cylinders to get better MPG. Strange seeing it do it on the highway, goes from 17 mpg to 25 mpg without a hiccup, if you push the accelerator it jumps back to V8 mode without any notice. Great driving vehicle. Nice to have a truck to haul things and tow if needed.

I have a 04 crew with 280k still chugging along, although I got the itch and got a newer 13 model for daily driving. I've had five Silverados, solid trucks.

Cool Rich! It looks good.
I could have started this thread myself. I just picked up a 2011 2500HD with the Duramax engine. Had it shipped up here from AZ.

The 2500 series are large-framed big trucks. With that diesel it will pull forever.

I hope so Bill. With what I paid I could have bought a brand new car! I plan on it lasting awhile.
With where we live now 4wheel drive is pretty much mandatory in the winter, or you stay at home. The wife wants to trade her Toyota in for a Suburban. Not fun driving that in the hills in the snow! We had a Suburban, but sold it last fall as it being a ?99 it got to the point where it seemed like every month something went wrong with it.

Check your oil cooler and trans hoses for leaks. Common problem.
Also check for broken engine mounts.
