I am new to Pontiac engines ,, I have what I was told is a 389 from a 1970 GTO but checking the numbers it appears to be a 1970 400 ,, the block casting on the rear passenger side reads 9799916 ,, the stamped numbers on the front passenger side are 20P272540 ,, YU ,, any assistance would be greatly appreciated |

Indications point to a 350 Pontiac, not a 389 or 400. 99916 indicates '70 block, YU shows it to be a 2 barrel version per Pete McCarthy's book. |
