i need info about 2 groove pulley, looking for a chrome 6" - 6 1/2" diameter to replace the 8" ! found out with A/C 6" is the one to use, i am have hard time finding one for Pontiac, does anyone know if the Chevy one will work ? lots of them on line.

Looks like your only option is to buy one and see if the back spacing and bolt circle are correct. If its too deep you can shim the back.

found early chev. short water pump pulley is 1/4" longer & 6 1/2" dia. just right. i will be trying one with shim kit ! just hope shaft is long enough to seat clutch fan good enough !! the old cardone is 1/2" so maybe !

Hikin Mike beautiful Firebird !! i found a 6" pulley & just got it back from machine shop ! it is early '60's ford which has a cap spot welded to the front mounting point of pulley, why i have no idea but being the pulley position was even with the end pump shaft i had the cap removed & it now leaves enough shaft to seat the clutch to keep it centered. cleaned it to bare metal & shined it up on buffer & it will do till winter then chrome on it & A/C bracket !! check the new belts tension & double check all bolts, test drive later !!!

new pulley did it's job so far temps rarely get to 180

Good to hear! Heat issues can be the most frustrating to chase. Fixing it without having to drain coolant is a big win.
