So, this is my "driver", and a good 15 footer. I repainted much of this car 25+ years ago in a single stall garage, knowing sometime I'd have to "do it right"-but have left it alone as a driver while I work on the other birds. Last fall (2015) I decided to refresh the interior again.

So probably 10 years ago I redid the interior- new carpet and repainted plastic stuff- new TTop rubber. I almost never drive the car with the TTOPs in, so I noticed the carpet was faded in all areas that had sun exposure- torqued me off. Carpet ha less than 1500 miles.. but I decided to try carpet dye (spray paint-!), and it worked well! Bought the TATA interior kit from 78TA.com, reupholstered the back seats myself and had a local shop do the fronts. repainted the plastics for a refresh. Rear quarters were cracked, but couldn't source good ones at a reasonable price so re-used for now.

I don't have a picture of the back of the back seat- it was severely faded, and the fronts were brittle and dirty-

Hard to take good interior shots-

fast forward to today- Interior door panel replacement. Not easy, but not hard either- just kinda a pain

Before shot- hard to tell the condition with the sun shinning on it.

Benjamin replaced the door handle while I was working on the new panel. He had already replaced the other side. It's nice to be 16 and have skinny hands and good eye sight

The new panels are stamped but need cut out. yes, that part is nerve racking and time consuming..

There was no cut out for the power lock switch, so used the old panel as a template

I was able to pick up a couple of nice interior quarters at the POCI Nationals in Bettendorf Iowa a couple of weeks ago, and have new replacement trim for my TTOPs. Will paint all soon and install. The last of the interior "projects" will be refinishing the dash panel. I have a couple of spares I will do at the same time and post if all goes well.

Did you reinstall a moister barrier under your door panels? Wouldn't want to damage those expensive new ones.
