I just received the above mentioned pan today, before I ordered I checked model fitment on Summit's site and it said it was compatible. After unwrapping everything I noticed the side of the box is labeled fits all Pontiac chassis.... except 70-74 firebird. Has anyone install one of these in a 70-74 bird?

I've been told the pan from Canton is a much better quality. You may want to return it and give the Canton pan a try.

I talked to Miloden and they tell me it does fit, and it is dimensional identically to their road race pan. just hope they are right ;)

My stock replacement Canton pan holds 6 quarts. Comes with magnetic drain plug.
It took a little tweaking for a good fit to block and timing cover.
But over all, i'm pleased.

I also realy like the one piece BOP oil pan gasket.

A little tweaking on the motor is fine, my concern was with the chassis statement on the box. I was worried about some difference in the sub-frame cradle area, but all the information I could find didn't show anything major in that area.

I plan on using the BOP pan gasket as well, just need to figure out if I want to go with the two piece or one piece viton rear seal.

Tweaked the new pan for good fitment.

I installed the two piece seal but it leaked. Comments on the pontiac sights are about 50/50 on success rate.
I have not heard any negatives on the one piece.
Im running the Teflon Graphite Rope with no leaks.

I didn't care for the one piece seal. Had leaking issues in the typical areas. I went back to the muti piece gasket. I run a Canton road race pan.
