I am build a pro touring Lemans with a mild 400 for power. My question is: Can I run the heater hose into the water jacket of the Edelbrock RPM intake instead of the back of the cylinder head as designed? I am trying to keep all lines braided stainless and the hose in the back of the head is going to make timing adjustments difficult because the line is in the way of the vacuum advance. Any help would be appreciated

Yes you can. Several manufacturers of V engines use the front coolant crossover for heater supply including Chevy.

You should install a .250 drilled restrictor before the heater core. So as not to divert/bi-pass coolant away from the radiator. And reduce pressure surges on the heater core. JMO.
