BREAKER BREAKER ! Scott Burton has just won the national event in Vegas, in his 1970 B/SA Ram Air IV Formula ! I think it's the quickest Pontiac powered Stocker ever.

His 10.30 pass was heads up, against another B/SA--no breakout. But, for those with enuff $$$, there are the Pro classes, like the one which a female just won, with a perfect .000 light. She also had low ET and top speed, and wrapped up back to back championships. But then, you may not like female drivers.

Yeah, bracket racing requires a lot more driver skill, than heads up racing. There's more to it than just spending a LOT of money, then mashing the gas pedal and releasing the trans brake button, like the heads up guys do.

But, bracket racing never has been, nor will it ever be a spectator sport. It's strictly for the racers and their families. Without bracket racing MOST drag strips would have closed LONG ago. Most of the small tracks stay alive on Test & Tune nights and bracket racing. A lot of the Stock racers run bracket, when there is not a class race to enter.

Brad Burton won his D/SA class, at Vegas, in the heads-up, class eliminations. He also won a big bracket race, earlier in the year.

More good Pontiac racing news. Leo Glasbrenner just won the national event in Pomona !

He was driving his C/SA '68 Bird. Won a heads-up race in the quarter-final round, with a 10.33.

Wow, Scott & Brad Burton had a great weekend, for Pontiac power !

In div 5, Scott had already got RU at the Stock/SS combo race, earlier in the weekend. Then, Sunday he won Stock Eliminator !

Then, in the div 6 race, Brad Burton won the Stock class, to complete a nice family race weekend ! And, if that's not enuff, the #1 qualifier, Ryan Warter, was RU, with his Pontiac powered Bird !
