I have been watching this show called street outlaws, they have some really fast cars, You can go to their website and view some of the details of whats in the race cars, I have yet to see a Pontiac on the show, just Fords and Chevies, the show helps to keep the want to race feeling alive, during these winter months.

hehehe, ya, I noticed that as well. I had been thinking that there is no way they can trailer all those cars and have all those passes without someone noticing and without cops. If you look at everyone, none are concerned at all. But, it is still fun, they are technically on a street and not a drag strip, and they seem to be good old boys and fun to watch.

Hoping Chief can get a handle on that car, would like to see a solid pass as I'm not seeing it beating the truck anytime soon. That truck is a monster.

i watched outlaws last show in which big chief??? lost in his GTO to a chebby chevelle!! seems he liked the grass better than the asphalt!! LOL a good driver most likely would have beat the chebby !!!! twin turbo 2000 hp you would think!!! LOL and refer to a '62 chebby 2 dr. sedan as a BUBBLE TOP!! i may be wrong but '61 2 dr hardtop was last of the BUBBLETOP'S !! and also refered to his 470+ ci Pontiac motor as a small block!!! i may have miss under stood him !!!! maybe!!!! think fact checking should be a priority for these good ol' boy's!!!
that being said it is kinda entertaining !!!!

That's good stuff. I kind of like the idea of a bigger bore vs longer stroke, but i have no experience with any aftermarket blocks.
Steve C. Posted - 31 Dec 2013 : 11:19:17 AM
A standard Indian Adventures block (not tall deck) with a 4.500" stroke and 4.350" bore. It's the ability to use a larger bore not the deck height as you can use a 4.5 stroke crank in a factory block.

cortcomp Posted - 31 Dec 2013 : 09:29:56 AM
I would guess, at that power level, that they would be using an aftermarket tall deck block?
wakesupremo Posted - 31 Dec 2013 : 03:45:54 AM
What would be done to a pontiac block to achieve those cubic inch figures? I have read so many times that its not recommended to overbore any to 0.060. These must be way over that.
Are they still reliable enough for a street motor?

That is a nice GTO,I have only seen a hand full of the shows and have yet to see that car.

Referring to the 535 combo I posted above....

"As of tomorrow morning my tiger headed nitrous huffing engine will have a new home. And I will start my twin turbo build."

Within that thread there is a concept drawing and also some nice pictures within post number 349

I'd love to drive something along that theme for the street...it takes more than just flat black to pull that "look" together. I especially like the twin turbo design, where they did the intake in the drawing on page one and how the exhaust exits.

Big chief is the only Pontiac guy on the show. His current race car is a 70 GTO with a Butler built twin turbo motor 2K+ HP. http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?p=10096018
There's a video of the motor somewhere on YouTube

I watched the episode where the Guys from Texas came up in the camaro
Blued and Painted Posted - 21 Dec 2013 : 10:29:02 AM
I'm a fan of the show but episode 3 was such bull krap. Murder nova is going to bet $2500 with a known bad TPS. Then the sonoma is going to blow chunks of aluminum just for the cameras.
Here some new stuff on Big Chief

That car in the right lane left like it was shot out of a canon.
Steve C. Posted - 20 Dec 2013 : 5:36:28 PM
Big Chief's Pontiac

If I'm correct it was a 535 Pontiac, tiger heads, th400, FTI converter, 2 Monte Smith foggers, dominator etc etc...Made around 1100rwhp on one small gun and went 5.13 in the 1/8th.

Big Chief (Brand X on PY board) from the show has been involved with a pontiac. A few years ago we loaned him my Pontiac scatter shield and flywheel to dyno his pontiac engine.

There has been one. First episode of this year. Gang from Texas brought one up to race the OK guys. Here's a snippet...
